![]() Sports Decals ![]() We wanted to do something special for our basketball team parents, so we decided they might like a decal with their son's name & number, and the new mascot on it. While we were making these, we decided we'd make decals for all of our cheerleaders too. We used Avery decals for our project. Wherever you can buy computer paper, you'll probably find these. Make Sure You Print On The Right Side! Make sure you know which side the ink will be printing. Do a test copy on a piece of plain paper. We first found a megaphone picture. Then we colored it purple and put each girl's name on it. We lined up the decal to print at the top of the page so that we could print a basketball under it and save paper. We used half as much paper this way. We took a picture of a basketball and printed each boy's name and number on it along with our new mascot. (We recently voted on our new mascot, and wanted to get the team accustomed to its name. We printed the boy's decal backwards so it could be stuck inside a car window. We also printed a decal regular so that it could be put on a mirror or locker. We used our paper cutter to trim the edges straight. If your edges are crooked, it keeps the decal from looking clean. There should be a small margin around the printed part. If you cut right to the ink it won't look as good. We had a hard time peeling the backing off. To make it easier to peel off, we cut one of the sides shorter than the other. This way, you can easily pull an edge up without creasing the decal.
