Coach Fox's 300th Win

This year our Varsity coach reached his 300th win. This was a very important occasion, and the whole school wanted to help celebrate. Coach Fox is an amazing guy. He's been at PCS for 17 years. Every freshman and senior has him for Bible class. He really helps us to grow as Christian teenagers.

A few weeks before his 300th game, we started working on posters and signs.

We printed out 50 small signs on cardstock for the fans to hold up.

We knew the parents and students would want to keep these signs. Everybody was glad that they could keep their signs. We also did 50 other signs that said "We *heart* Coach Fox".

On the night we were expecting 300, we had one of our cheer moms take mostly pictures of Coach Fox and the game.

Near the end of the game, when we knew we had a good lead, we passed out the signs to the crowd. We told everyone to keep their signs down until the game was over.

When the game was over everybody held up their signs.

The Varsity cheerleaders took out signs to hold up.

Something else we did was put up an orange basketball for every win Coach Fox had.

We started printing the basketballs a few weeks before our 300th win. We bought orange cardstock and printed 2 basketballs on each one.

We put the year, the team we defeated, and the score on each one.

We printed each year in a different font to set each year apart. (This looked wonderful!)

We printed the basketball in grey and the words in black. This way we used less ink, and the text showed up much better.

We went back through 17 years of PCS yearbooks to find the information we needed on the past basketball teams.

We scanned in the yearbook pictures that Mr. Fox was in. We put the pictures together for each year.

We made sure we had the team picture and roster for each year.

Everybody loves Mrs. Fox as much as Coach Fox. She's also been teaching and coaching at PCS. She met Mr. Fox working here, so we had to include a picture of them from the year they met.

We put the basketballs around each year's pictures.

On each year's poster, we printed the complete win/loss record. We also included any extra facts about the team for that year, like if they won State or any tournaments.

We put signs in the hallway to direct people so they could see all the basketballs.

At the next game, before Varsity played, our Superintendent and Athletic Director presented Mr. Fox with a plaque. Mr. Fox had a standing ovation from both sets of fans.

On the plaque, there was the record for each year of Mr. Fox's coaching career.

All of our pictures from the game were centered around Mr. Fox.

Even our action shots included the posters in the background.

We used the pictures from the night to make a scrapbook for Mr. Fox.
