![]() Scrapbooking ![]() We were invited to the IBC shoot out. What made this so neat for us was the game was played where the Bradley braves have played for decades. Bradley University is in Peoria where our school is located. Since everyone at P.C.S. are huge Bradley fans it was really neat to play/cheer on the same basketball court where so many games were played. This is a fabulous old gym, with a curved wooden ceiling. This set of pictures is really special to all of us. It was really cool for our girls to cheer on this old wooden floor. The floor was built about 3 feet above the ground. I don't think anyone will ever cheer on anything like this again She took individual pictures of each girl and mixed them in with our group shots. She even took a picture of the old pull down wooden seats with our coach sitting in one. The wooden bleacher section of the gym was supported by thousands of two by fours. Our mom thought they looked pretty cool, since nobody builds wooden bleachers like this any more. She asked the girls to pose underneath them. These pictures turned out great. Even though we may sometimes get tired of having our pictures taken, when we look at shots like these we're so thankful for our cheer mom. Another unusual part of this game was that our team actually sat below the basketball floor at the end of the court. No one would have remembered how unique this was. Once more, our cheer mom saw an opportunity to take another special shot. Once again she took a picture of the scoreboard. It was neat to see our teams score on the Bradley Brave's scoreboard She made sure she got individual shots of all of our players in this gym During half time of our J.V. game the varsity guys always warm up on the court. They haven't changed into their uniforms yet and are still wearing their school clothes. Our cheer mom saw an opportunity to take some different pictures of the guys. She took full-length shots of each guy, trimmed them down and arranged them in a different way. The next few pictures are some of our favorites. One our players little brother hasn't missed a game in the last 6 years. He started coming to his brother's games when he was just a toddler and we all consider him our "little brother". When he was old enough he was given the job as team water boy. During half time of one of the J.V. games he went out and shot some baskets with his big brother. Our cheer mom took plenty of pictures of this. During one game our "little brother" wanted to try his hand at taking pictures of the team. So our cheer mom gave him her camera and let him go. She included his pictures in our scrapbook. Here is another example of a school mascot she took a picture of. We later found out that I.V.C is the only school in the United States with a GHOST for its mascot. When we did not cheer at an away tournament, our cheer mom saw another opportunity to take pictures. It was a nice chance to have pictures of us with our hair down and wearing school clothes. She is always looking for opportunities to take pictures that show the unity our team has Our cheer mom also took lots of pictures of our boy's dads. If you ever watch the parents at a game it is almost always the dad's making the most noise in the stands. They are usually quite animated and make great shots. These are two of their quieter pictures. We ended up winning this game by several points, but the scoreboard shows how close we came to losing. We might not have remembered this fact without the picture to remind us. Our players always huddle in the middle right before the start of each game. Before each game our coach always spends a great deal of time warming us up. Our cheer mom took pictures of one of these warm ups and made a page just for those photos. When the other squads perform we always sit down and watch their cheer. I love all the pictures of our basketball coach, Mr. Fox. There are probably a dozen pictures of him in this scrapbook and in each one he is always standing just like this. He is the most laid back, easygoing coach you will ever see. He lives his faith on the court as well as off of it. I liked how she took two pictures of the team, trimmed them down and put them together. Throughout the season she takes dozens of individual shots of each girl and then has a page for each one with only their photos on it. Go to: Page 1 *Page 2* Page 3 OR visit Part 2
